Region of Interest Zooming in Videos
Course Project: Advanced Signal and Image Processing
The purpose of zooming in an image is to observe a Region of Interest. Video being a temporal entity, enlarging a spatially fixed window does not serve the purpose of observing RoI over time. Due to both, camera motion and object motion, the object or region under consideration may move out of the selected window in next frames. To avoid this, user selected RoI is tracked in keyframes and region of zoom is moved accordingly. I used SIFT keypoints with HoG descriptor and Color based descriptor for tracking in both scenarios i.e. object motion and camera motion.
